Description
Espirito Santo Plaza's
main tower occupies a forward position on the site. With its simple,
elegant lines and sculptured exterior, the building welcomes visitors
with a dramatic 36 story concave figural arch, beautifully symbolizing
the gateway to Latin America. Water in all of its
sparkling, cascading forms is an integral part of the aesthetics of the
building and the theme of moving can be experienced at numerous points
throughout the complex. Accessible from Brickell Avenue or via the motor
court, the tower's ground level contains the banking lobby for Espirito
Santo Bank, hotel access for the Conrad Miami and restaurant/retail
facilities.

Espirito Santo Plaza houses only
the second Conrad Hotel in the
United States, with the
prestigious Waldorf Astoria in
New York city, being the first.
More than 60 years, and 8,000
miles from where his father,
Conrad Hilton, opened his first
hotel in Cisco, Texas, Barron
Hilton began another chapter in
the innovative history of Hilton
Hotels Corporation with the
formation of Conrad Hotel.
Conrad Hotels was founded in
1982, with the goal of operating
a network of luxury hotels and
resorts in the world's major
business and tourism capitals
and top resort destinations.
Conrad Hotel was not the first
international expansion project
for Hilton Hotels Corporation
("Hilton"). In 1949, Hilton,
through its Hilton
International, arm launched and
began operations with the
opening of the Caribe Hilton in
San Juan, Puerto Rico, followed
by additional hotel openings in
Madrid and Istanbul.
In November 2000, Hilton Group
plc and Hilton Hotels
Corporation formed a joint
venture company to expand the
Conrad brand of luxury hotels on
a worldwide basis. Owned equally
by Hilton Group plc and Hilton
Hotels Corporation, this joint
venture for new Conrad hotels is
headquartered in Brussels,
Belgium. The Conrad brand has
earned a reputation for
first-class style and service
among both business and leisure
travellers. Building upon this
existing reputation and goodwill
as a foundation, the joint
venture company will further
enhance the brand's presence in
the luxury segment of the hotel
industry on both sides of the
Atlantic.
